5 girls + 1 KIA= an epic road-trip

Welcome back everyone,

I can’t believe it’s already been about two months in Copenhagen. Time is flying by! Last week, I had the week off for independent travel. To kick off the week, I went on a road-trip in Denmark on Saturday with some DIS friends to Forest Tower in Camp Adventure and Møns Klint.

We started our journey by picking up our car rental at the airport. Then we drove to our first stop Forest Tower located at Camp Adventure, about an hour from Copenhagen. We walked along to the forest boardwalk and then climbed all the way to the top of the Forest Tower. From the top we were able to see Copenhagen and Malmo! Besides the amazing architecture of the Forest Tower, I really enjoyed how this park was designed for accessibility. The wooden boardwalk is flat and the Forest Tower is a gentle slope all the way up (no steps) which mades it possible for people with different physical abilities, like people in wheelchairs, to be able to enjoy the park as well!

After the Forest Tower, we made a quick pitstop at Netto (the Danish grocery store we all know and grown to love) to pickup snacks and lunch before driving another hour to Møns Klint. Once we arrived, we had a picnic and then started our hike by climbing up the cliffs. Afterwards, we hiked all the way the down the cliffs to sea level. We spend some time admiring the view and before climbing back up the stairs. If I’m being honest, climbing back up the stairs was kinda a struggle but the amazing views made it 100% worth it.

Overall, I really enjoyed this trip. It was a great way to get away from the city and explore some of the nature sites that Denmark has to offer as well as bond with friends more. I especially enjoyed Møns Klint. It is hands down one of the most beautiful places I ever visited and I would encourage future/current DIS students to take a road trip here!
